Skincare Tips for the WinterDecember 07, 2012
As fall begins to fade and winter starts to wind up, it’s time for us to break out our tried and true skin care tips. Although we certainly don’t mind the ice skating and hot chocolate sipping that comes along with the winter weather, the reality of the season is that it’s not quite as fun for our face. Between the freezing cold temperatures outside and the blasting heat inside, our skin needs some extra attention during these harsher months.
- Exfoliate. It’s easy to get carried away with polishes or scrubs that can often be abrasive to the skin. For a gentler touch and a more thorough clean, exfoliate with a soft-bristled brush. A good exfoliation prepares the skin for better absorption of serums and creams that can help promote softer, more supple skin for the winter.
- Hydrate. Of course, the best skin care tips are the ones that work with you. As the winter approaches, replenish your skin care routine with products that integrate seamlessly. A concentrated serum, adding a few drops of Yon-Ka Hydralia to your usual cream can help boost hydration, a must for the chilly months.
- Protect. Sun damage doesn’t just happen in the summer. Even though UV levels might be lower and the sky might seem gloomier, SPF is still a daily necessity. A broad spectrum sunscreen protects against UVA and UVB waves which lead to sunburn and premature aging. To ensure complete protection, be sure to apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before heading outside.
These quick tips will revitalize your skin’s health this winter season and ensure you make through to spring looking as beautiful as ever. In the spirit of the season, don’t forget to enter our 12 Days X-Mas Giveaway.---
