Pre-Holiday Diet Tips

It’s that time of the year again! With the holiday season just around the corner, we’ve all started to gear up for the endless stream of dinner parties and cocktail hours that are sure to follow. But, as you start to find yourself engulfed in a sea of food, avoid future breakouts and putting on those unwanted extra pounds by following these simple holiday health tips:

  • Go skinny sipping. Put down the eggnog and step away from the bar. At zero calories, water not only keeps you slim and hydrated, but also assists in locking in skin’s natural moisture levels. When dehydrated, skin can appear dull and wrinkled, a sure skin don’t for looking your best at sophisticated soirées.
  • Get back on track. Stick to your fitness goals and get back on track, and we mean literally. A few laps around the track will help you burn off the excess caloric intake from all the delicious holiday eats this season. And don’t be afraid to break a sweat! Sweating helps release acne causing toxins that build up in pores, so hitting the gym can keep you healthy in more ways than one.
  • Think outside of the box. Avoid using calorie-filled, pre-packaged and processed foods when cooking up your favorite holiday dishes. Instead, stick to all-natural alternatives and cook with seasonal foods like pumpkin. Packed with skin and body nutrients, pumpkin and other squashes can quickly fill you up and come with the added bonus of maintaining skin’s complexion.

Remember, you are what you eat and what you eat affects your skin and body, so be sure to think twice before picking up every hors d’oeuvre that comes your way.
