Cosmeceuticals to the Rescue

July 07, 2010

Overwhelmed by the sheer number and complexity of skin care products? Our simple skincare regimen can help develop brighter, younger looking skin in record time! Here’s how:

Three easy steps can eliminate the guesswork and carve a path to fabulous skin at any age:

Step 1 AM/PM: CLEANSE – Wash your face twice a day with one of our cleansers – something soothing, exfoliating, or specifically designed for a condition such as acne – to gently detoxify and hydrate sun damaged skin. Some of our favorites include Avene Gentle Cleanser for Intolerant Skin, Neo-Cleanse Gentle Skin Cleanser by Neocutis, and Kinerase Skin Balancing Cleanser. Incorporating a Clarisonic sonic cleansing brush into your cleansing routine materially adds to the cleansing process, helps reduce oily areas, dry skin patches and blemishes, reduces the appearance of visible pores, removes 6 times more make-up, and cleanses so well that products absorb better.

Step 2 AM: PROTECT – Skin loves moisture – it also needs protection – we recommend applying a moisturizer/SPF combination periodically throughout the day. Three we especially like are Glytone Ultra Light SPF, iS Clinical Moisturizing Complex, and Neocutis’ Journee Bio-restorative Day Cream.

Step 3 PM: PREVENT/REVERSE/RENEW – Here we like products with antioxidants, hyaluronic acids and growth factors to resist aging, restore skin tone and clarity, and firm fine lines. Consider these powerhouses: iS Clinical Youth Complex, Kinerase PRO+Therapy Cream & Lotion with Kinetin and Zeatin, Neocutis’ Bio-Cream or Bio-Gel with Processed Skin Cell Proteins (PSP).

Should you choose a more complex regimen you might want to add an eye treatment to place under your SPF. We suggest Kinerase C8 Peptide Under Eye Treatment, iS Clinical Youth Eye Complex, Obagi ELASTIderm Eye Cream or Gel, and Neocutis’ PSP-based anti-aging eye cream Lumiere.

Signs of summer sun damage:

  • Pigmentation
  • Lines and wrinkles
  • Rough, uneven skin
  • Dullness and dryness
  • Increased redness & roughness
