After 40 years of indulging in high-priced, well-performing skincare, my increasingly sensitive, rash-prone skin forced me back to the basics: no fragrance, no irritating ingredients. The no-frills Avene line is now my favorite. Avene doesn’t advertise, uses the simplest white plastic containers and puts its money into products that do what their straightforward descriptions claim. So Antirougeurs Calm Soothing Repair Mask calms and soothes, thus reducing redness. I slather it on as a night-time moisturizer; it absorbs nicely with no rubbing. Great value; what’s not to like

I've been using moisturizers for fifty years now - yikes - and discovered Avene about five years ago. I was buying more and more expensive brands as I aged; my daily go-to were Lancome's serum-plus-moisturizer regimes. My daughter suggested Avene for my increasingly fragile/sensitive skin, and I'll never use anything else. Their no-advertising, inexpensive packaging approach and their rigorous commitment to avoiding scent and cheap chemicals are hugely beneficial to customers. This is the only review I've ever written for a skincare or cosmetic product, and I marvel to contemplate how many thousands I've spent for them over the years. Avene, you're my one and only now and for my lifetime!
